It appears that baseball manager Bobby Valentine is set to try his hand in the restaurant business. A new restaurant in Connecticut called "Bobby Valentines" is making headway in the local community.

Baseball manager Bobby Valentine has decided to open a new bar and restaurant in Stamford, Connecticut. The facility is aptly named "Bobby Valentines" to commemorate his status in the New England community. The new restaurant, which is featured online at http://bobbyv.com, offers a mixture of upscale dining and casual bar food. "The decor of the facility is designed to mimic the Fenway experience," according to one local source.

Some experts were quick to suggest that the bold move towards being a restaurateur in Connecticut may ultimately prove to be an uphill battle given his history and experience with New York City. Prior to being named manager of the Boston Red Sox, Bobby Valentine spent a large number of years working with the New York Mets organization. New York and Boston are considered to have the longest standing sports rivalry in modern times. "This strong divide could potentially be a source of malcontent amongst the local Red Sox fans," as cited by one such expert.

Another expert was quick to argue that, "Since Bobby is actually a native of Stamford, there is little reason to think that it will not be a success. He is one of the most celebrated athletes in all of Connecticut so the vast majority of people will welcome this establishment, regardless of his earlier New York ties. People in Boston love baseball and Bobby Valentine epitomizes baseball. Besides, it's not like he worked for the Yankees."

The various menu items are designed to provide baseball nostalgia. A number of items are named after famous players throughout history and there is even a popular appetizer called the "World Series Tower". One of the restaurant managers added, "Our goal is to provide more than just good bar food. We want this place to be an experience unlike any other. That's why we used all the best high definition TVs and we also gathered one of the largest collections of baseball memorabilia you can find anywhere outside the hall of fame in Cooperstown."

Bobby Valentines is now open for business in Stamford, Connecticut.
