-Zig Ziglar

The key to a great balance is not just professional achievements but also what you achieve in your family life. Of course, I’m not of the opinion that you should leave all the work and just drool around, but there needs to be a balance between your work life and family life. Like millions of people worldwide, you must have gone through a remote working experience, and some may still be experiencing it due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The opinion about the pros and cons of remote working is a debatable topic. So, let’s not get into it. The most important part is, are you managing your work-life balance properly? Work from Home mechanism surely has disadvantages like lack of community and teamwork, frequent distractions, and most importantly, BURNOUT! You must have gone through days where you lose track of time and forget to spend quality time with your family. Happens frequently, isn’t it? I present you with some quick tips on creating a perfect work-life balance and being mentally strong while you work remotely. For more enlightenment on managing a perfect work-life balance, you can register for my online psychological counseling session.

Take Regular Breaks
Taking breaks isn’t about cheating yourself, it’s about treating yourself.
-Curtis Tyrone Jones

If you were at your workplace, you would have taken a break from your schedule for having a small chat with your colleagues on a cup of coffee. At home, you are alone and don’t have your colleagues. But you surely have your family members! Be sure to take a break from work by going for a walk or having snacks with a family member. Taking short breaks of 10-15 mins after an hour of work can help you refresh and gear up for the work again.

Be Kind to the Self
Balance is not better time management, but better boundary management. Balance means making choices and enjoying those choices.
-Betsy Jacobson
Carve time for yourself to self-analyze your mental health. I know many will say that they don’t have time for self-care, but you have to learn to care for yourself as it will be the foundation of a good mental health routine. Monitor your mood every day and rate it on a scale of 1 to 10. If you observe that it is low consistently, you should consider speaking to a psychotherapist. Wondering about a good clinic? Tending Minds is here to serve you as it is one of the best mental health centers in Pune.

Find Stillness
Take care of yourself: When you don’t sleep, eat crap, don’t exercise, and are living off adrenaline for too long, your performance suffers. Your decisions suffer. Your company suffers.
-Ev Williams

Always find a moment of stillness while you are working. Whether you feel the pressure or not, sit down. Close your eyes. Take a moment. Think. This activity will help you see things from a different perspective and has the power to turn your mood 360 degrees.

Connect with Friends and Colleagues Virtually
Work, love and play are the great balance wheels of man's being.
-Orison Swett Marden

While you were at office, you would have your colleagues for a quick chat. Now, with the remote work mechanism, you can virtually connect with your friend or colleague and have a quick chat. It will improve your mood significantly.
These small things can help you create a great work-life balance and you can excel in life on all fronts, be it personal or professional. If you need more insight on this topic, you can seek psychotherapy treatment.
