SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Dec 9, 2015) - Airtable today announced the release of its fully redesigned iOS application that enables anyone to build a database-powered app, right from their phone.

Airtable allows anyone to build and share their own organizational databases, and is the first to offer fully real-time collaboration. With the 2.0 version of its iOS application, the entire database creation process can be performed directly from a mobile phone, with no technical skills or desktop intervention required.

"This is a big step in the direction of Airtable's vision of bringing increasingly powerful tools for software creation into everyone's hands -- starting with databases," said Howie Liu, co-founder and CEO. "The world is becoming increasingly filled with highly specific and inflexible apps that expect users to bend to the app's workflow. We think it should be the other way around."

Airtable is taking a unique approach in the database landscape by creating a product meant for end-users, rather than developers, to create their own apps. Use cases span from couples planning weddings to businesses managing their inventory or sales.

"We spent more than six months and underwent countless user studies to refine the new version of Airtable," said Andrew Ofstad, co-founder and Head of Product. "We've taken complex, technical database concepts and translated them into touch-friendly interactions that anyone can understand and use."
