The company struggled throughout the first part of the year to keep consumers interested in their product, but holiday shopping led to a massive increase in not only web traffic, but also surprised the office team with a lot of foot traffic into their office!
Company officials shared the data for the year, stating a 350% increase in revenue over the previous year. The initial press release quotes the owner, “I was worried going into the holidays that the company was not going to recover after a slow year, I was already preparing to move on… [when] out of the blue a customer walked through the door and asked to see our selection for his kid! We explained that we were an online retailer and could not just give it out directly, but if he wanted to use our computer to place his order, he could!” That, according to the marketing team, was the moment that changed everything.
Over the rest of the month, sales exploded, both foot and online traffic came in droves and made massive purchases. “Now I am worried about the future of the company and how to keep this boom going”, exclaimed the owner. The success of the holidays does not guarantee the future of the company, but if they can find a way to isolate the marketing that gave them the advantage this season, then they may have struck a gold mine.
