Fairfax, VA, 9/14/2022: – Top grossing home remodeling firm in Northern Virginia, Design Pro Remodeling is on a mission to empower neighbors by building strong foundations. Earlier this year, the company launched DP Reimagined, their nonprofit foundation providing remodeling services for deserving individuals and families within the DC Metropolitan community.

Last July, Design Pro announced the Military Home Makeover project, and launched a family search to find and give back to a military family who have given so much to protect our freedom.
After an internal review by 9 board members, on Wednesday, September 15, 2022, Design Pro announced Ben Kiernan as the recipient of the Military Home Makeover.

Ben Kiernan was injured in Afghanistan in 2010, when a complex ambush led to the detonation of an IED, leaving the entire right side of Ben's body severely injured. After years of excessive pain and over 30 surgeries, Ben recently decided to amputate his right leg to ease the pain and maintain his quality of life. During Ben's journey, he has proved to be a true American hero by stepping up and supporting other injured veterans along the way.

Design Pro plans to deliver Ben and his family updates to their home that include smart accommodations to enable Ben’s accessibility and mobility within the house. Goals for the Kiernan’s home remodel also involve the kitchen and main floor, including an updated open floor plan, plus a custom home office to help support Ben and Leah while working from home. The primary bathroom is also on our list with the addition of a freestanding tub and a custom shower with better accessibility for Ben.

Plans and outcome of the remodel are dependent on the funds raised for this project. Every dollar makes a difference.

All donations raised will go towards new flooring, cabinets, appliances, furnishings and more. The team at Design Pro will provide the services needed to complete the Military Home Makeover.
