The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the dates for registration and exam schedule of various competitive exams such as University Grants Commission-National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET), Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-main) and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) and Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) on Tuesday. And as first reported by TOI earlier this month, the NEET-UG will be "a single exam in pen and paper mode and in the same number of languages as has been conducted in 2018."
The government earlier in July 2018 announced a tentative schedule for the exams and also said that the JEE-main and NEET-UG will be conducted twice a year and all the exams will be computer based. However, following request from the ministry of health and family welfare, it was decided that the medical/ dental entrance test will continue to be an annual exam on pen and paper mode with no change in pattern.
