“The initiative began with Dr Rakesh Rai on the occasion of World Hepatitis Day . We did a Facebook Live session where Dr Rai shares his highly knowledgeable insight on viral hepatitis, its types and treatment. He also spoke about how to care for the liver, in general,” says Mr Dhiraj Sharma, founder CEO, MedicoExperts. The video was well-received and had the audience interacting live with Dr Rakesh Rai who readily answered all questions and resolved queries.

Dr Rakesh Rai is a hepato-biliary-pancreatic and solid organ transplantation (liver, kidney and pancreas) surgeon who have an extensive surgical experience of 15+ years. He is closely associated with MedicoExperts to provide insights on liver, pancreatic and biliary diseases and kidney transplant.

“MedicoExperts’ initiative of ‘#DoctorTalk will benefit a lot of patients to not only be aware of the treatments offered in India, but they will also receive information about the diseases and how to best manage the symptoms,” stated Dr Rai. Dr Rakesh Rai also spoke about fatty liver diseases and its damaging effects on the liver. You can watch the video to understand how the instances of fatty liver has gradually increased over the years as a consequence of change in lifestyle patterns.

“Typically, hepatitis A and hepatitis E spread through contact with food or water contaminated with the stool of an infected person. Eating undercooked pork, deer, or shellfish can also cause people to get hepatitis E. Hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and hepatitis D spread by contact with the blood of an infected individual. Hepatitis B and D may also spread by contact with other body fluids, which may happen in many ways, including sharing injection needles and having sex without protection. Hepatitis A and E viruses usually only cause infections that are acute or short-term. The body will fight off the infection in an acute infection and the virus is gone. Hepatitis B, C, and D viruses can lead to an infection that are both acute and chronic or long-lasting. Chronic hepatitis can lead to complications including cirrhosis, liver failure and cancer of the liver,” states Dr Rai in the informative video on Viral Hepatitis.

#DoctorTalk aims to involve the best and renowned doctors across the medical field to speak about their surgical expertise and how their respective fields have evolved to incorporate newer and latest technological advancements like minimally invasive and robotic procedures which is a huge benefit to the patients. This MedicoExperts’ patient awareness campaign also highlights the advanced treatment options that can be availed to ensure better success with increased quality of life.
