ASK MAYFIELD ANYTHING SPECIAL EDITION: CALIFORNIA’S LARGEST UTILITIES STICK IT TO SOLAR (AGAIN)

Monthly solar-plus-storage industry show to discuss and take live questions about the latest anti-solar policies being waged by the state’s investor-own utility companies

[CORVALLIS, OR] — ASK MAYFIELD ANYTHING, a monthly lunch-hour Q&A webinar for solar-plus-storage industry professionals, announces its upcoming special edition on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. (PST). This live event will cover the latest move by California’s largest investor-owned utilities attempts to shutter the state’s solar industry. Audience members are invited to register and join the conversation with industry subject matter expert and AMA host Ryan Mayfield, co-host Laurel Hamilton from Mayfield Renewables and special guest Carter Lavin of the California Solar & Storage Association (CALSSA).

ASK MAYFIELD ANYTHING covers industry topics and interests like PV electrical codes, helping designers, engineers and contractors level up their professional education and training, and highlighting companies and products within the solar-plus-storage industry. However, as the public commentary deadline is fast-approaching on the NEM 3.0 issue, AMA’s Mayfield felt the show could lend a supportive platform and audience to assist CALSSA.

"The utilities’ proposed changes to net metering will certainly impact California’s solar industry and market negatively,” says Mayfield. “We wanted to help CALSSA raise awareness to block these large anti-solar utilities from altering the current net metering system.”

Leading the fight against NEM 3.0 is the California Solar & Storage Association (CALSSA). “The CPUC will decide the fate of the California solar & storage market in the next few weeks and is on the cusp of giving in to the utilities disastrous anti-solar policies which would cause mass layoffs across the market,” says Carter Lavin, CALSSA Membership Director. “The only way the industry can change the outcome is to show the Governor and the CPUC that California voters stand with solar and demand the rejection of the utilities' destructive proposals,” Lavin argues.

PV solar and solar-plus-storage professionals and solar power customers are invited to register here to join the discussion and ask questions during the live Wednesday event.

“Show the Governor and CPUC that you stand with solar and help defend tens of thousands of solar workers in California by adding your name to www.SaveCaliforniaSolar.org,” adds CALSSA’s Lavin.
