THE PASSION BEHIND "PADDLE PICKLER"

"Paddle Pickler: a pickleball platform providing equipment reviews, tutorials, and community support, founded by Sid Edmondson, Marlys Coon, and Fermin Mize."

Sid, Marlys, and Fermin first crossed paths on the pickleball court, each bringing a unique perspective and a deep love for the game. Sid Edmondson, a lifelong athlete, discovered pickleball in his late 30s and was immediately captivated by its strategic depth and community spirit. Marlys Coon, a seasoned coach and player, had been advocating for better training resources for years. Fermin Mize, known for his analytical mind and love for sports, saw the potential for a platform that combined education with personalized equipment recommendations.
The idea for Paddle Pickler began to take shape during a casual game where Sid’s brother, unfortunately, experienced the pitfalls of poor equipment choices. Misled by inaccurate reviews, he ended up with a paddle that hindered rather than helped his game. This incident highlighted a significant gap in the market: reliable, comprehensive resources for pickleball equipment and education were sorely lacking.
Motivated by this need, the trio envisioned a platform that would serve as a cornerstone of the pickleball community—a place where newcomers and seasoned players alike could find trustworthy advice and detailed reviews. They started small, testing paddles and writing reviews in Sid’s garage in Tampa, Florida. Their dedication and thorough approach quickly garnered positive feedback from the local pickleball community.

Building the Vision
As their project gained momentum, the founders realized the potential to impact the wider pickleball community. They decided to formalize their efforts, combining their skills and knowledge to create Paddle Pickler. The platform was designed to provide in-depth tutorials, detailed equipment reviews, and actionable advice tailored to players of all levels.
Personal Anecdotes and Insights
Sid recalls the turning point when Fermin shared her personal pickleball journey on social media. The overwhelming response and the flood of inquiries about game rules and effective playing techniques underscored the need for a dedicated educational platform. This feedback fueled their determination to create a comprehensive resource that would demystify the sport for beginners and offer advanced strategies for experienced players.
The Vision
Today, Paddle Pickler stands as a testament to the founders’ commitment to quality, integrity, and community. Their vision is to be the global beacon for pickleball excellence, providing every player with access to the best knowledge and equipment they need to excel. The platform continues to evolve, driven by the founders’ passion for the game and their desire to support the pickleball community.
