Mark Cruver Celebrates Two Decades of Educational Consultancy Work

Posted July 1, 2016 by markcruver

Mark Cruver works as an Independent Educational Consultant in Fayetteville, Georgia. With more than 20 years of experience, he understands the finer points of college admissions and is all too happy to share his knowledge with parents and students.

In creating Capstone Educational Consultants in 2012, Mark Cruver was aiming to transform an idea sketched on a napkin into a successful and growing business. He was leaning on his 20-plus years of combined experience in higher education administration and human resource management to help develop the idea, and he was determined to make it work. Now with more than three years of operation, Mr. Cruver is quite pleased with what he has been able to achieve.
Capstone was built through an entrepreneurial vision that revolved around the idea of providing quality educational consulting to the local Fayetteville community in the state of Georgia. By pursuing local networks and building partnerships with testing centers, high school counselors, and college representatives, Mr. Cruver was able to design and develop an educational resource that families could look to during the college selection and admissions process.

As the business has become a reliable resource for the community, Mr. Cruver looks to keep it growing through strategic partnerships and affiliations with professional groups and associations. He has established policies for financial agreements and is proactively developing his own skills through college tours, conferences, and certifications. In helping students understand the college journey, his points of emphasis include administering and interpreting self-assessments, providing advice on financial aid, goal setting, time management training, and developing college lists.

Mark Cruver’s ability to undertake this work comes from his experience as a college admissions professional at Bryan College (TN). Having completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Education at the same institution in 1992, he returned in 1995 to start work as an on-campus admissions counselor. It was his responsibility to design and launch the college’s first all-student tour guide team called the Ambassadors. The team hosted families that visited the institution, and it’s from this experience that Mr. Cruver learned the intricacies of college admissions. In the decade that followed, he would steadily rise to become the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management, a title that included opening up the role of recruitment to other departments.
