Nithin Kantharaj’s Internship Experience at UT Southwestern

This Press Release is written to inform the readers about Nithin Kantharaj’s experience at UT Southwestern.

 
Nithin Kantharaj was a student intern for UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas for almost three months. Here, he learned about self-efficacy for the chronic condition using QI. His responsibilities included:

-- Identifying key stakeholders and developing a project charter

-- Brainstorming barriers and Gantt chart to track progress

-- Performing FMEA analysis on brainstormed ideas and valuable inputs from patients, doctors and nurses and literature

-- Shadowing the patients to find the root cause of not being self-efficacious

-- Developing Fishbone, Pareto, weighted criteria matrix, driver diagram, process mapping, and the Decision matrix

-- Collecting the related data and performing PDSA to continuously improve the quality of self-management

-- Documenting the progress and submitting the project for further improvement to the committee

Nithin Kantharaj has an expertise in Lean Manufacturing, SPC, TQM, Time and Motion Study, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma(DMAIC), KANBAN, ISO, PFMEA,DFMEA, KAIZEN, GD&T, Root cause analysis, Corrective and preventive action(CAPA), JIT, 5S, IQ,PQ, and QP.

About Nithin Kantharaj

An alumnus of PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore, Nithin Kantharaj is a skilled product developer and project manager. After pursuing a Bachelor’s in Mechanical engineering, he went on to study Industrial engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Nithin Kantharaj has an expertise in Lean Manufacturing, SPC, TQM, Time and Motion Study, Value Stream Mapping, Six Sigma(DMAIC), KANBAN, ISO, PFMEA, DFMEA, KAIZEN, GD&T, Root cause analysis, Corrective and preventive action(CAPA), JIT, 5S, IQ, PQ, and QP. While he was in college, he worked on a number of academic projects. Some of the major projects he worked upon include failure mode effect analysis of Samsung note components, quality analysis on Toyota 9 million recalls, and simple & multiple linear regressions.

Nithin is quite passionate about traveling to new places.
