Hungarian-Croatian nobleman, Miklós Cseszneky, has been bestowed with the prestigious Grand Collar of the Royal Order of the Crown of Mangkualaman, along with the Javanese princely title of Kangjeng Pangeran, by His Majesty Sri Paduka Mangku Alam II, the King of Mangkualaman, Indonesia.

The Kingdom of Mangkualaman, previously part of Pakualaman, is a Javanese princely state within the Sultanate of Yogyakarta. It was established in 1812 as a reward to Prince Natakusuma, later known as Paku Alam I, for his assistance in quelling the conflict in Yogyakarta in June 1812. The kingdom has been officially recognized by the Indonesian state since its inception in 1945, under Chapter VI, Articles 18, 18A, and 18B of the Indonesian Constitution.

Prince Miklós Cseszneky is the current head of the House of Cseszneky, one of the most ancient noble families in the former Kingdom of Hungary. The family traces its lineage back to Duke Ketel, a Khazar-Pecheneg ruler, who, according to mediaeval chronicles, joined the Magyar Confederation led by Grand Prince Álmos and played a significant role in the conquest of Hungary in the late 9th century.

Baron Jakab Cseszneky, a descendant of Duke Ketel and the royal swordbearer of King Béla IV of Hungary, constructed Csesznek Castle in the Bakony Mountains, from which the family derived its surname. During the feudal anarchy of the late Middle Ages, the Cseszneky family flourished and became semi-independent rulers of extensive territories. They even engaged in wars against King Andrew III and King Wenceslas, almost capturing the latter in the royal palace.

In 1526, György Cseszneky defended the fortress of Tata against the advancing Ottoman troops and later became the captain of Győr. Emperor Charles V bestowed upon him the title of Count of the Sacred Lateran Palace.

In the 20th century, the family was incorporated into the Croatian nobility with comital rank. Count Gyula Cseszneky served as a privy counsellor to King Tomislav II of Croatia, while his brother and Prince Miklós's grandfather, Count Mihály Cseszneky, was a business partner of Italian Righteous Among Nations, Giorgio Perlasca. Gyula and Mihály Cseszneky aided Perlasca in his efforts to save hundreds of Jews in Nazi-occupied Hungary.

Prince Miklós Cseszneky is a political scientist, psychotherapist, lecturer, and author who has advised numerous prominent politicians and royals worldwide. He has also been involved in media enterprises and educational initiatives. Prince Cseszneky is a passionate advocate for free speech and freedom of conscience and is a prominent figure in the Stoic revival movement. He launched a scholarship for disadvantaged students of Stoicism and also established the Order of Marcus Aurelius, a fraternal and charitable organisation inspired by Stoic philosophy.

Prince Cseszneky has already received numerous academic, civil, and dynastic honours and distinctions, and he has now become a member of the Javanese nobility as well.
