Former West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop has recently shared his ODI XI of the decade where three current Indian cricketers – MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been placed. Bishop shared his team while in a conversation with veteran cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle on Cricbuzz.

“I have got Rohit Sharma there because he has got a great few years and I don’t use the word great loosely,” Bishop said.

Bishop said that India captain Virat Kohli’s record speaks for him. However, he made a great choice for wicket-keeping and captain for his side. “My keeper, Mahendra Singh Dhoni. That could be debated but his ability to finish games in the prime of his career, his leadership, keeping skills, strike rate and all of that,” he said when choosing Dhoni for the captaincy role, under whose captaincy India won the 2011 World Cup.

Surprisingly, Bishop didn’t choose JaspritBumrah, instead, he preferred Sri Lanka pacer Lasith Malinga with whom Bumrah plays for the Mumbai Indians

"I grew up on the history of the game and coming through, I had this whole concept of a fast bowler as someone with a long flowing run; someone like Wes Hall, Sir Richard Hadlee, DennissLillee, the Marshalls, the Holdings, so on and so forth. And Jasprit is exactly the opposite: it is a stuttering, short run," Bishop had said.

However, he later got amazed and said where the pace comes from the bowler. Since he has great skill and he can swing the ball pretty well. He even gave the example the way this speedster did in the West Indies that really impressed the veteran cricketer. He also said that if he can manage to stay fit, he will be the key player for the team.
