Impotence - How One Man Learned to Deal With It

Impotence is a serious problem. Here's how one man learned to deal with it.

Men often joke about the inability to get hard. It's an easy thing to make fun of, and the right joke is almost certain to get a big laugh. But in reality, a firmness problem is no laughing matter. In fact, it can be devastating for men, and those who are impacted might be desperate to find the right male organ care methods to resolve the problem.

That's what happened to one man, who will be referred to in this article as Ben. He agreed to share his story in order to raise awareness about the seriousness of impotence, and the ways in which the problem can be handled.

A Physical Source

"I started having problems a few years ago, when I had a pretty serious back injury," Ben says. "I was in a lot of pain, so the whole idea of intimacy wasn't really all that appealing. But even when I started to feel better, I noticed that I just couldn't get things moving. I might be interested, but my body wasn’t really cooperating."

"When I went through some more tests, they found that I had damaged the nerves that go from the spinal cord to the male organ," Ben says. "This wasn't a mental thing, so counseling wouldn't solve it, and it wasn't something that surgery could cure. I was told that I needed to learn how to adjust and live with the loss, since it probably wouldn't be coming back."

Mental Exercises

"When I first found out that I wouldn't be able to be close with my wife, and I mean like we used to be, I felt really awful," says Ben. "I didn’t think I was much of a man anymore, and I couldn't figure out why she'd want to have anything to do with me, since I was so broken and worthless. All of those little thoughts went around and around in my head. It wasn't good."

"My wife is wonderful, though, and she encouraged me to talk to a therapist about all of this. We decided to go together. We talked about what had happened between us in the past, and what we needed to do in the future. We just cleared the air," Ben says. "It wasn't easy for me to talk about this stuff at all, but I think it was really important."

Physical Help

"While the therapy was really important, I also decided to start looking into physical aides that would allow me to be intimate with my wife. One of the tools I tried was a vacuum pump," Ben says. "It basically bypasses the nerves altogether, and when I used it, I saw pretty remarkable results. Sure, it takes the spontaneity out of things, but I could actually get firm. So that part was great."

"But I also learned that intimacy isn't all about the thrusting," Ben says. "My wife and I have epic sessions now that have a lot to do with touching and oral play, and we both love that. It's something we didn't do a lot of before I got hurt, so that's been really great."

Ben also started using a male organ vitamin crème. While these products can't repair nerve damage, they contain ingredients that can keep the skin soft and sensitive, including:

• Vitamin E
• Alpha lipoic acid
• Vitamin A
• L-arginine

A quality male organ health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) with these ingredients might help skin to stay softer and just a little more supple, so a man can feel every little tingle and touch that comes his way. These products can also make the tool a bit nicer to look at, which might entice more partner interaction.
