Malcolm Matthews As A Great Teaching Assistant

Posted January 2, 2019 by malcolmmatthews

Malcolm Matthews has traveled to several major cities, including London, Rome, Chicago, and New Orleans.

During his time as a PhD student and a teaching assistant, Malcolm Matthews helped his students make the most out of their experience in higher education by encouraging them to combat the challenges they are bound to face at some point during their education. Malcolm began instructing students as a teaching assistant when he began pursuing his PhD in 2012. As an assistant teacher, he taught high-level courses on a wide variety of subjects in the English department, such as Writing for New Media, the Literature of Trauma, The Digital World, and Social Justice. Malcolm also has a background in professional communications and has been a part of professional improvement programming, which enabled him to articulate and demonstrate novel ideas and intricate concepts to his students in a coherent and concise manner.

The foundation of Malcolm's teaching principles lies upon the importance of organization and discipline. With this in mind while working as a teaching assistant, he strived to show his students that easy doesn't necessarily mean more satisfaction, and that concentration, discipline, and follow-through do not hinder the satisfaction that one experiences when completing an assignment or responsibility.

No matter whether he was teaching literature, creative writing, critical analysis, or a poetry course, Malcolm made sure to stress the value of leveraging proper organization strategies. With a strong belief in the notion that organization impacts everything from note-taking to how one organizes their ideas in writing, he aimed to emphasize how effective organization strategies can positively influence the methods students use to meet their academic deadlines.

As a result of his unique approach to teaching, his students praised Malcolm for his ability to motivate and inspire them to reach their full potential. Many of his pupils regarded him as a source of positive encouragement that compelled them to push themselves to achieve their dreams.

Even after Malcolm successfully finished his Teaching Apprenticeship in order to fulfill his PhD requirements and completed his PhD in 2017, he is still considered a first-rate teaching assistant who successfully taught his students about the positive impact of discipline and follow-through in all areas of their lives.
