SVR Global is one of the fastest growing Floating Ball valve manufacturer in USA. The ball in a floating ball valve is held in place by the compression of the two elastomeric seats against the ball. Inside the valve body, the ball is free to float.

The stem is attached to a slot on the top of the ball, allowing it to rotate a quarter turn (90 degrees). The shaft allows for some lateral movement of the ball caused by the upstream pressure acting on it. This minor lateral movement, in fact, creates a load on the ball, pressing it against the downstream seat, improving the valve's leak tightness. This type of valve can shut off in both directions. When the upstream pressure is high, the floating valve is very difficult to operate.

Main Parts of a Floating Ball:
• Actuator lever.
• Stem.
• Floating ball
The actuator lever is the outermost part that opens or closes the fluid flow. When turned at a 90-degree angle, it rotates the stem, which causes the ball to open or close. The ball remains unmounted at the valve's base, supported only by a stationary polymer ring and seats.

Advantages of Floating Ball valve:
• When pushed onto its seats, a floating ball provides impenetrable sealing.
• It reacts quickly to turning off or allowing fluid flow.
• It is very efficient in small scale applications where other valves would be too large.
• Design is compact
• Customization is offered

Applications of Floating Ball valve:
Emergency shut off systems: In the event of an emergency, pipeline systems involving fuels, water, or critical gases frequently require a quick-responding shut-off valve. Because this type of ball valve is unmounted, it operates quickly and is thus suitable for SIL 3 emergency shut offs.
Water systems: Water distribution systems require optimal pressure levels to sustain flow and prevent air pockets from restricting water flow. Water flow must also be controlled to avoid overflows. Because it is pressure-sensitive and can open and shut as needed based on pressure conditions, a floating ball valve is an excellent choice for water system control.
Pipeline pressure relief: Pipeline pressure management is critical for avoiding busts and other mishaps. A floating ball valve can be used as a pressure outlet valve in a pipeline because it absorbs pressure while remaining intact, as opposed to a mounted ball valve, which can occasionally blow out.
