If you are someone like me who simply likes to try each and every homemade beauty routine possible and tend to save every tip you read on the internet, then this post is meant for you! At times skincare advice on the internet is awfully false, non-researched and simply a click bait. Dr. Raina Nikhil Nahar, Consultant Cosmetologist and Dermatologist Dermatology (Skin & Venereal Diseases) at Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai enlightens us on how some DIY remedies need to be mixed with special ingredients in order for them to be beneficial for certain skin types.

Curd: Curd helps to reduce acne and blemishes, lighten skin tone and anti-aging properties. Curd also helps to exfoliate the dead skin and add moisture to the radiant glowing soft supple skin. It works best for oily skin type and is not at all suited for dry skin types. People with dry skin type should mix curd with honey, essential oils and rose water.

Besan: It can be used be in different combinations to deal with dry and oily skin. But the trick lies in using the right kind of ingredients along with besan to suit your skin type.

When used along with milk cream and honey it can be used to moisturize dry skin.

With rose water, it can be used to control sebum production in the oily skin and reduce pores.

With turmeric and curd, it can be used for acne prone skin to reduce blemishes.

Sweet almond oil: It is suitable for dry, flaky, and irritated skin, and not so much for the oily skin. It is generally used as a moisturiser, which helps to combat signs of ageing like wrinkles, spots, and under-eye puffiness. Sweet almond oil when used with avocado can be used to cleanse and brighten the skin. Almond oil with vitamin E capsule can work wonder as an anti-ageing product too.

Tea tree oil: Tea tree oil has anti-bacterial properties, which helps to unclog the sebum from the pores. It must be used in diluted form. In fact, people with sensitive skin type, eczematous, or inflamed skin type should avoid using tea tree oil as it can cause irritation.

Lemon juice: Not just lemon juice, but to some extent lemon essential oil needs to be used very carefully in diluted form in the sensitive skin. It can because acne scars when used on acne due to acidity. It shouldn’t be strictly used on people with dry skin. In fact, lemon can react on sun exposure hence must be used only in the night.

Rose water: It has different indications in different skin types as it helps balance and tone oily skin; soothes and cools dry and sensitive skin; cleanses and purifies normal skin, and tones and rejuvenates mature skin. It also helps to reduce inflammation of the skin with acne or eczema.

Sea salt scrubs: Sea salt scrubs are abrasive because of their sharper edges and hence cannot be used in sensitive, irritated, eczematous skin or open wounds and cuts.

Apple cider vinegar: It should be diluted or else it can cause a lot of burning and flare sensitive and Rosacea skin. It is best avoided for dry skin as it acts as a toner and astringent.

Aloe vera: It has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic and anti-ageing properties. It can be used by all skin types without any side effects, only when mixed with the right kind of ingredients, else it might leave your skin dry, parched and strip it off essential natural oils.

For normal skin, mix aloe vera gel with besan, orange peel powder and curd to get radiant skin.

For oily skin which is prone to acne, mix aloe vera gel with honey and keep it for a minimum of 15mins. This can be done twice a week to get clearer skin.

For dry skin, aloe vera with olive oil and shea butter works wonders.

For sensitive skin, aloe vera with cucumber juice and curd soothes the skin.Read more at:http://www.sheindressau.com/vintage-wedding-dresses-au | http://www.sheindressau.com/beach-wedding-dresses-australia
