[ORLANDO, 12/5/2018] – U.S. Lawns Team 473 in Texas is accepting applicants for irrigation technician and gardener posts. The location provides lawn care services to commercial property owners and managers around San Antonio and Helotes.

Irrigation Technician Position

Applicants should have a Non-exempt Irrigation Technician Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) status. This means, if hired, they are entitled to overtime pay. If the applicant is not a licensed irrigator, they will be supervised by one.

The job of the irrigation technician ranges from client management to brand compliance to quality control. The irrigator should be responsive to customers and can effectively communicate in English or Spanish languages.

According to the company, the irrigation technician should professionally represent U.S. Lawns at all times. As such, the hired irrigator should comply with the brand guidelines by maintaining clean and professional-looking vehicles and other equipment, for which the technician is responsible.

The irrigator is liable for the assigned equipment, which should be in good working order and properly maintained. U.S. Lawns requires the irrigator to secure equipment and operate them only according to the owner’s manual.

Applicants should submit:

• A copy of their valid state driver’s license
• Driver record that meets company standards
• Proof of local, state, and federal irrigation license

Gardener Position

The job is physically demanding, so applicants should be willing to move around frequently – walking, standing, reaching, kneeling, and crouching. The job may also require lifting and moving items that weigh up to 60 pounds. The gardener is exposed to wet or humid conditions, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions while on the job.

U.S. Lawns requires the gardener to complete training and earn certification before using equipment like the 36” mower, blower, and edger. They should also be able to perform preventative maintenance on company equipment.

Upon hire, applicants are required to provide documents for the completion of the I-9 Form or the Employment Eligibility Verification.
