New Delhi, Aug 17, 2016: Kerala Travel Mart (KTM) is the largest gathering of tourism in the state. It is going to organize its 9th edition from 27 September to 30 September, 2016 and about 57 countries are going to participate in it with 10 new participants including China, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Georgia, Chile, Greece, Iran and Botswana.
This annual meet will be held in late September, in Kochi, which is expecting to see the biggest- delegate contingent hailing from 10 esteemed traditional markets including Canada, US and Australia.

These 57 countries along with 20 Indian states will look for tourism opportunities in Kerala- “Gods Own Country” during this three-day event organized by the KTM Society along with the Department of Tourism, Kerala.

KTM Society President, Abraham George said, "The KTM has always placed as much emphasis on the identification of quality buyers from new countries as on retaining participation levels from conventional markets. With 10 new nations confirmed to participate this year, our efforts have borne fruit."

He further added, "Moreover, the increase in registrations from the 10 conventional markets including United States, Canada and Australia is further proof of the KTMs growing profile."

The event, which is going to be held at the Samudrika and Sagara Convention Centre on Willingdon Island, Kochi will display an array of products, packages and services from 261 sellers such as homestays, resorts, hotels, houseboats, Ayurveda spa resorts and tour operators.
Around 25,000 business meetings are said to be witnessed by KTM, besides its other non-scheduled meetings.

The mart has been designed to serve as a platform for the professionals and entrepreneurs from travel industry, hailing from the state itself and all around the world. It facilitates B2B networking & interactions among them therefore, providing a source for business linkages between the state tourism society and international travel market.

KTM 2016 will focus on the themes of Responsible Tourism and the Muziris along with Spice Route, according to the Organizers.

A Spice Route Culinary Festival is said to be held from 23-26 September, 2016, in-order to promote the Muziris and Spice Route theme. It will be held by UNESCO in association with Kerala Tourism and the Union Tourism ministry, which will include leading chefs from 31 countries, participating in this historic Spice Route.
