The Darkest Hearts to Release
Its Debut EP Loose Ends & Ashes July 12, 2016
“Loose Ends & Ashes” on escape plan RECORDS
NASHVILLE, Tennessee, USA May 26, 2016 — The Darkest Hearts will release their debut EP Loose Ends & Ashes through their label, escape plan RECORDS, on July 12th. Their first single, Disappear, is currently available for download on all major platforms and on their website http://www.thedarkesthearts.eu. With their massive guitar riffs and brutally honest lyrics, the band has already garnered attention both at home and overseas. Disappear was featured on 102.9 The Buzz/Nashville, hailed as “A great radio song! Guitars! Guitars! Guitars! A great Summer listen for sure" by sQueeGee.
After years of discussion about starting a project, the idea of the band solidified in 2013, when the tumultuous lives of guitarist Luke Vavrek and vocalist John Kramedjian found them both able to pursue their artistic partnership in Nashville. Leading up to this, the two found themselves entrenched in moves, marriage, and divorce. These experiential narratives inform their powerful songs, which weave together the pain of heartbreak and the search for meaning in the midst of chaos.
Both heart-wrenchingly personal and universally relatable, the album features Kramedjian’s gritty, soulful lyrics soaring above punishing grooves and driving rhythms. Pushing the boundaries of traditional rock, the band incorporates haunting ambience with the unabashed attitude of punk and the classic sounds of blue collar rock. The EP opens with a thunderclap as Disappear confronts the listener with a veritable powerhouse of sound, beginning the journey through this exploration of addiction, love, loss, and everything that comes with it.
Kramedjian says, "Pouring out silhouettes of our life has not been easy. This record is what we did to move past the lives we have lived and we are looking forward to the next one that shows where we have gone".
This first album was recorded at Lohrs Productions, Soundcheck Nashville, and VAVROCK studios|The Dark House. Mixing for Disappear was performed by Kyle Manner at Studio West. Manner is also currently in studio producing We Are The Finale in addition to numerous other major label artists (see http://www.kylemanner.com/client-list/ for more details). The rest of the EP was recorded, produced, and mixed independently, by Luke Vavrek. This past year, the duo was joined by guitarist Daniel Kassel, and the group is currently planning a U.S. tour.
Out of the ashes, something dark is rising.
