Someplayers say that since everything is already RNG so why can't the quartz nodes be RNG as well. The rich nodes are almost never available due to farmers have the spawn time timed to the second and mine them right when they respawn. While all the low quality nodes are always available.

Would it be wrong to afk at a rich node and rig my keyboard with the "F" key pressed for days just to have a chance to get the rich node.

I think they don't time it to the second, they time it to the minute. When that minute comes, they either hold down the F key or they use a macro -- both are equally effective. Making the nodes RNG would make rich quartz available to more people. But as it is now, it's not like you can't go and mine it yourself. You just need to put in the work.

If you camp by a node, you'll figure out the spawn time within 3 hours. Do the same for all the nodes and you've got yourself all the times. The farmers usually manipulate the times on Wednesday/Thursday after maintenance so from Friday to Tuesday, they are usually perfectly staggered for you to chain node to node.

If you want to start mining, you need decent ping. But you also need to know where to stand and where to look at the ground. Both go hand-in-hand and there are certain spots/distances that work better than others. There's a reason all the farmers always set up in the same positions looking down at the same spots on the ground for each node.

But no matter which node, and no matter the time of day, you'll always have competition. The same people will always be farming it. They literally no-life it. They must be 60+ in age and retired, or they're home-schooled because otherwise, I don't know how they're able to be at each node all the time. But it's why you never see the nodes available if you're just passing by.

There's a Sin on my server (Old Man Cho) who is at the nodes 24/7. Straight no life. Uses 2-3 characters to get to the nodes quicker. Doesn't matter what time of day it is, he's there. But he's got 600+ AP so I guess he's happy. I tried my hand at mining for about a week on one of my alts (wanted to try on a low population server) and actually had some success. Made about 800 gold during that span, and that was with me losing a lot of nodes to the farmers. But ultimately, I decided to stop because I didn't want my life to revolve around mining. Way too unhealthy. I'm okay with just making 30-50 gold per day because my life is more balanced that way.

Like anything else in this game, the profits go to those who have no life. If they're willing to sacrifice so much of their lives in order to mine, more power to them. I don't think they should be punished by having the nodes be RNG.
