25 Dec- 2012: Children's book portrays lovable terrier that overcomes disabling injury "lucky" by Craig S. Inglis aims to educate and inspire young reader as well as children of all ages with the story of a dog that lives a happy life after an accident that results in the loss of its leg.

Anaheim, Calif.-"Lucky" (ISBN1463777566), a special illustrated children's book by Craig S. Inglis, follows an irrepressible terrier and it's compassionate owner who work together to find happiness after an unfortunate accident.
Sensing something is missing in his life, a man goes to a pet store and finds a new friend. A lovable terrier, he names the dog Lucky and the pair is soon inseparable. Lucky leans how to fetch, sit, rollover and beg and enjoys walks in the park. Everything was perfect until one day when Lucky darts in the street and is accidentally hit by a car. He is rushed to the animal hospital where the friendly veterinarian saves his life but is unable to fix one of Lucky's legs. The injury would change Lucky's life as he adjusted to moving and playing with only three legs. But Lucky was up to the challenge and with his owner's help, he re-learned all of his old tricks plus a new one. The pair were soon back in the park again and as happy as ever.

"It's a positive book with a "can-do" attitude that helps children understand that they can overcome obstacles in life and even make a better life than before," Ingles says. "I was inspired to write the book by those who faced and overcome physical disabilities."

Intended to entertain and educate young reader and win the hearts of many others, the book aims to share a serious message through a playful, uncomplicated narrative. The book features original illustration by Richard Kinsey that depicts Lucky, his owner and his courageous recovery.
