Loxdale English Centre presents Truleigh Hill as an ideal home-away-from-home for international English students

The most effective way to learn English is to be immersed in the language and culture, surrounded by like-minded young people who have equal aspirations to master the language. As a global language, English opens doors to opportunities across the world and what better gift for a child than the gift of a future without borders.

English-speaking countries such as the UK, US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia all require a certain level of proficiency in English speaking, comprehension, reading and writing before they will approve a visa for work or study purposes. In addition, universities around the world require a high level of English proficiency to enter secondary and further education opportunities.

“Most of the young people who come to our centre have a great deal of ambition,” says Zoe Smith, Marketing Officer for Loxdale English Centre. “They have plans to study or pursue work opportunities around the world, and for that they need to master the English language. We have programmes that cater specifically for the learning needs of young people.”

Loxdale English Centre offers an extremely popular International Summer Young Learner course perfect for children aged between 8 and 12 years old. It is designed to be interactive and enjoyable to ensure students become confident in English. Students from all over world are joining the Summer courses and the programme is ideal, particularly with the new Truleigh Hill residence.

All students aged 8 to 12 live in the residential centre where they receive 24 hour care and supervision. The only exception is when they live with their parents either in homestay or hotel accommodation. The residential centre is located 15 minutes from Loxdale at Truleigh Hill in the beautiful South Downs National Park.

Truleigh Hill has recently been refurbished to offer ideal accommodation for youngsters. There is plenty of outdoor garden space where students can relax and play sports in a safe environment that is set well away from busy roads. Students will also enjoy other facilities including a communal dining room, a shop where they can buy drinks and snacks, and even free WiFi.

“Truleigh Hill’s location will enable us to offer our students the opportunity to try new activities such as archery, orienteering and treasure hunts. Our new centre is the perfect size and offers our students a fun, warm and caring atmosphere,” says Smith. “It is truly a home-away-from-home that offers excellent around-the-clock care and activities.”

Wherever possible, students will share a room with a person of a similar age but a different nationality. There are between two and six students in a room. All the students have breakfast at the centre. Lunch and dinner are served at school each day and at weekends students receive a packed lunch to take on their specially arranged day trip. Truleigh Hill can cater for all diets.

For students who do not want to stay in the residence, there is the homestay option. Homestay provides a friendly, comfortable, family home for a child and their parent while they are studying at Loxdale. The host family provides a room as well as a delicious breakfast before lessons and dinner in the evening. Lunch is provided at the school or can be packed in by the host family.

“The Young Learners Summer Courses run from 10 June to 19 August 2018 while the residential accommodation option is open from 24 June to 22 July 2018,” says Smith. “Loxdale English Centre provides a truly wonderful and effective learning experience to help children to achieve their lifelong ambitions.”
