The culture of the clubs has taken the top stages of cricket, as each of the eight countries that play Tests has a T20 league. India has the Indian Premier League, Pakistan has the Pakistan Super League, Bangladesh has the Premier League, Australia has the Big Bash League, South Africa has launched the South African Super League this year and England and Sri Lanka have T20 leagues in their respective countries.
Even Afghanistan and Canada got their T20 leagues recently, which shows how popular and successful this format is.
If we look at the quality of cricket and the level of competition in these leagues, the Big Bash League and the Indian Premier League can be ranked in the top two leagues in the world.
However, there is always debate among fans as to which league is better. In this article, we will look at both sides of the coin:

IPL- Discovery of star players
Top Indian stars such as Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, and Shikhar Dhawan are constantly making sure they are available to represent their teams in the IPL. Not only Indian stars are the main reasons for the success of the IPL, but the promoters also offer them rich contracts.
On the other hand, the payout rate is not very good in the Big Bash League, and also the star players do not devote much time to playing for their BBL teams. Top Aussie players such as Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, and Mitchell Starc are often busy playing for an Australian team when the BBL is played, which is one of the reasons for their absence.
The BCCI did not plan for the India series during the IPL. That shows how much the board cares about the image and reputation of the league.

Also, when the team has reached the final 4 in the semi-finals, they rest some of their top players at the end of the league games, thus, giving the fans less competitive games.


BBL - 'game' viewing experience
Watching an IPL match live on the field is something every cricket fan wants in his or her life. The electric atmosphere, power figure, tall sixes, yorkers breaking toes, and fan groups guarantee you a lifetime.
But the Australian board offers a better way to watch the BBL game live on the pitch. In addition to the exciting pyrotechnics they show during the games, many stuntmen make impressive speeches during the break.
Besides, viewing experience in Australian stadiums is much better than in the IPL as there are no grills there, thus providing an unrestricted view.
The difference can be seen in comparing the figures for the general presence of both leagues. In the IPL, the average attendance per game is 26,542, which is just 11 times higher than the Big Bash League (remember that BBL teams have much less stellar strength than IPL teams).




Women's Big Bash League
Cricket Australia introduced the Women's Big Bash League in 2015-16, and the league is played in the same way as men. The names of the team are also similar, and it provides an opportunity for good exposure to young and future female athletes in Australia.
Indian women played the T20 match last year on the day of the IPL final in what seemed to be the first step in the establishment of the Women's IPL. However, so far there has been no progress in that regard, and it is unlikely that the Women's IPL will be held this year.
Given the failure of the women's team in the T20 format, BCCI should consider starting a T20 league similar to the IPL for Indian women cricket players soon.

Playoffs program
In the Indian Premier League, the play-off system replaced the semi-finals in the 2011 program. The top two teams in the league should get two chances to reach the finals of this tournament.

On the other hand, in the Big Bash League, all four top teams get an equal chance of reaching the finals. This is in some way lowers the best team in the league, because even though they have played well for more than a month, they can be eliminated from the tournament for just one bad game.
