Non-surgical Treatments

There are non-surgical treatments that lift and tighten sagging skin. These procedures include the following:

Cosmetic Injections
A simple injection can make you look younger. This procedure can help you reduce forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet and laugh lines, fill indentations on the bridge of nose and get fuller cheeks and lips. Artefill, Radiesse, Juvederm, Sculptra Cosmetic, Restylane, Perlane and Botox injections are just some of the non-surgical treatments that can give your desired results. If you have questions, it is best that you talk to your surgeon first before proceeding with the treatment. Patients with active skin inflammation or infection in the target area are not advised to undergo any cosmetic injection.
Laser Treatments
Patients who are suffering from various skin conditions can benefit from laser treatments. These procedures reduce sun damage, unwanted hair, prominent blood vessels, signs of aging and acne scarring. The Cutera Laser Genesis treatment, ND:Yag 1064 laser for treating prominent veins and hair removal and Intense Pulse Light treatment are just some of the office based light and laser procedures that you can get.
Your surgeon will tell the options you have about the treatment of wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of aging. The simplest methods that may give your desired results are generally recommended. You may be referred to an aesthetician for skin care programs such as one of the MD Performance line of skin care cleaners and anti-aging products. If these products cannot meet your desired results, a chemical peel, laser treatment or Intense Pulse Light may be recommended.
Office laser procedures like the IPL can be conducted with little to no interruption. The improvement won’t be very noticeable and often, subsequent procedures will be suggested. For a more dramatic improvement or for deeper lines, a deeper peel and laser treatment may be recommended. How long the improvement will last is impossible to determine as the results differ with the patient’s age, skin type, condition and aging process severity as well as constant sun exposure.
Some of the light and laser treatments that are often performed in the office without downtime and sedation are the following:
Trichloroacetic Acid Chemical Peels
Trichloroacetic Acid chemical peels help smooth out skin pigmentation, fine wrinkles and superficial blemishes. It’s also preferred for patients with darker skin over Phenol. TCA is the peeling agent used to penetrate the skin in 20% to 50% concentrations. As it is a medium chemical peel, it can be used on any body part. The peel depth can also be adjusted to suit the needs of the patient. After one TCA chemical peel, your overall skin complexion and tone will appear glowing, fresh and smooth. Severe skin problems like active acne and melasma require a series of two to three procedures applied once every four weeks for optimal results.
The Perfect Peel
The Perfect Peel uses Glutathione as the main ingredient to reduce the signs of aging. It works from the inside to nurture and repair the skin by lifting melasma, refining pores, controlling acne, preventing acne marks, correcting skin hyperpigmentations and giving the skin a radiant glow.
Glutathione also defies the process of aging as it’s an antioxidant that prevents damage to cellular components caused by peroxides and free radicals. As we get older, the Glutathione levels in the body are reduced due to environmental stress, sun exposure and air pollutants. Glutathione penetrates deep into the skin’s cellular level to fight oxidant damage and prevent premature wrinkling.
