Posted April 28, 2016 by lindaoladunni

Linda Oladunni is the owner of a gas station in her community and is now poised to improve her business to make it more useful and available to all her customers.

Linda Oladunni moved with her husband to Texas 25 years ago and founded her gas station business in 16 years ago. Oladunni earned her Associate’s degree from Texas State Technical College in Harlingen and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Brownsville in Business Management. She has experience working in a variety of settings as a business leader in both Maryland and Texas. Oladunni is working on improving her business in Rio Grand Valley so that she can continue to serve her community well now and in the future.

Linda Oladunni was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, the large North African country’s biggest city. She moved to London in 1989 and worked at a local post office there until she saved enough to move to the United States. Later in 1989, she settled in Hyattsville, Maryland, where she worked at a gas station and took classes on Business Management in New York City at John Jay University. When she was ready, she took over a daycare center in Hyattsville, operating the business as her own and caring for many children up to the age of six in the community. She knows what it means to provide people with much-needed services on a reliable and daily basis.

Linda Oladunni met Joseph Oladunni in Maryland. They married and moved to Harlingen in the early ‘90s. Joseph is a doctor of Pharmacy and his intense focus on his work and education made him the perfect match for Linda, who is always working to improve her station and her education. The Oladunnis made their impression felt on the community almost immediately. Linda worked as a bank teller for Bank of America while she completed her degrees in Business Management. She wanted to build on her experience running the daycare center in Maryland and develop the tools she knew she would need to set up another business.

Linda Oladunni plans on making improvements to her gas station soon. With gas prices low, she thinks her volume will increase in recent months and she wants to take advantage of the favorable conditions for all in her community.
