While it is true that no two faces in this world are exactly alike, the only exception to this rule being identical twins, something that is possible is to group faces according to shapes. Every face has a distinct shape to it and it is for the make-up artist to discern the shape and then apply cosmetics using a variety of make up brushes. Understanding the face shape is imperative because it is this knowledge which leads to successful application. By using makeup brushes to highlight the strong points and hide the flaws, the beauty of the face can be truly accentuated.

Amongst the face types it is the oval face which is considered to be the most perfect and balanced and the make up brushes used on this face are not for correcting but just for the sake of highlighting. On an oval face it is mostly thin makeup brushes that are used for the purpose of lining the eyebrows and outlining the lower lip. The intention behind this is to lend to the face a look of fullness. Other tips for handling this face type include leaving the upper lip to its natural state and remembering to apply the blush in shape of a ā€˜Cā€™ so that it blends well with the corner of the eyes.

Some people have a heart-shaped face which is characterized with a wide forehead and a narrow chin and hence the objective of using make up brushes on such a face would be to create balance between the two extremes of the face. Using a darker shade of foundation on the forehead would make it appear narrow while a lighter shade of foundation on the chin would make it seem wider than it actually is. Makeup brushes should be used to apply blush on the upper cheek bones, make the eyebrows thick and straight and follow the natural line of the lips.

A face type which appears as being proportionate from all angles is the round face and various kinds of make up brushes can be used on it to bring about a subtle transformation. With the objective being to narrow down the width of the forehead and to elongate the face, foundation of a darker shade is used liberally which is why foundation makeup brushes are most important. Application of blusher on the cheeks, lip color on the lip line and highlighting the eyebrows are certain tactics which can be used to bring out the beauty of this face type.

Face types could be diamond or pear-shaped as well and both are characterized by a narrow forehead with wide cheekbones. Therefore in both foundation make up brushes are used to apply a lighter shade of foundation on the forehead and deeper shade on the cheek bones so that an illusion of proportion can be created. However, the difference lies in lining of eyebrows wherein in a diamond face the eyebrows follow the natural curve and in a pear-shaped face they are arched on the outer ends. Makeup brushes could also be used for applying blush or a darker shade of foundation on the sides of the face.

Being longish or squarish for a face also implies using a certain technique of applying make-up and this calls for adept usage of makeup brushes. A long face needs to be widened by applying a deep shade of foundation, thickening the eyebrows and making the lips appear full. Since eyes are emphasized, make up brushes for eyes are liberally used. Similarly square faces are made attractive by applying blush and toning down the eyebrows both of which greatly reduce the strength of the face and give it a soft and beautiful touch.

There are various types of faces in this world and the choice of make up brushes http://www.sedonalace.com/Cosmetic-Brushes/11/12-Piece-Professional-Makeup-Brushes-Pink.aspx is largely determined by the face type of the buyer. Amongst all the makeup brushes http://www.sedonalace.com/Makeup/2/Brushes.aspx it is the foundation make-up brush which seems to be the most commonly used in all face types.
