For us humans it is very easy to know and treat allergies, and in most cases we have doctors who would help. But when it comes to dogs, since they cannot express and tell you what discomforts they face, it is tough to know if there are dog allergies they are suffering from. As a dog owner you should know how to manage and understand the symptoms of the allergies on your dog. Sometimes you would find the dog itching itself uncontrollably and sometimes it would scratch and lick itself till there are sores formed all over his body. Now those are symptoms that shouldn’t be ignored or else, they can infect the whole body and pus can accumulate too, which is painful. And let’s not even get started about dog fleas and the issues they bring!

If the dog isn’t treated well for the dog allergies it has, the hair of the dog would start falling. Some would suffer from it for their whole life, and it’s not only the sores that are an indication for the allergies formation, but ear infection or odor too. The best way to get all of it managed would be to bathe the dog in nice cool water regularly. And use a nice dog shampoo which has aloe vera and eucalyptus oils in it, this would bring down the itching. Plus, ensure that the dog is not suffering from dog fleas which can be a hassle. To keep his skin and fur healthy and shining, please ensure that you follow the vet’s recommendation for food habits.

Dog fleas can be a pain for many, especially the saliva of the flea which can cause many allergies on the dog. But if you groom the dog well and brush its coat everyday, this can bring down the issue to a large extent. Plus, change the dog’s diet, sleeping area, and even the toys he plays with. And if you see that the dog allergies are getting worse by the day, call the vet at once and leave nothing to chance. He would prescribe the right medicines for you to administer to the dog and this would eradicate the issue from the root. Sometimes, what we think of as an allergy may just be a disease, so get that fact right as well.

Dog allergies treatment is not a one time affair; rather it would be an ongoing one. But remember very clearly that when you prevent the issue in the beginning, a lot of your time and energy would be saved. Also check to see if the environment around is helping the dog or not? The environment can play havoc in causing allergies too. And by identifying this you would be able to put a stop to it all. You as a dog owner should be responsible for the addition to the family. Get the dog checked regularly by the vet and groom the dog well, it would keep the pet free from dog fleas in the long run.
