Holiday travel planner sees bookings rise after the travel rule change in Q3 2021.

The demand for holiday travel planners has increased dramatically since the UK government announced that foreign travel rules will be simplified in England. The travel traffic light system which has been in place for some time now was replaced with a single red list, allowing those that are fully vaccinated to no longer need a pre-departure test before arriving home from the non-red listed countries.

Holiday travel planner, Let's Talk Travel, has seen a dramatic rise in bookings, since the announcement was made in September 2021. Several countries were removed from the red list, including the Maldives, Kenya, Turkey, Pakistan, Egypt, Sri Lanka, Oman, Bangladesh and South Africa. This means that travellers to these areas are no longer required to pay for hotel quarantine on their return home.

Lateral flow tests were also replaced with the expensive PCR test in October, which means that travellers arriving from green list countries, do not have to take a PCR test two days after returning home. This is a great reduction in cost, as the PCR tests are expensive, making travel to other countries more affordable. It has made international travel cost-effective and simpler, which has been due to the UK's high vaccination rate.

The demand for holidays over the next few weeks has skyrocketed and demand was continuing across the summer period. The surge in demand included family holidays during the half term.
