Travel companies, including the established, Let's Talk Travel in the United Kingdom, have reported a rise in demand for Sandals Resorts deals, as lockdown is a thing of the past. Once the roadmap to ending the lockdown was announced a few months ago, the demand has risen significantly as people book their dream holiday they have had to put on hold until now.
The spike in bookings has risen for Bahamas, Jamaica, and Barbados, to name a few. Flight bookings have already jumped by 337%, with holiday packages increased by 630% in one week. The travel demand is no surprise as most people have put off their annual holiday, even their honeymoon due to the restrictions resulting in the coronavirus lockdown.
Let's Talk Travel, a leading internet-based travel expert, has seen a surge in demand for deals on Sandals Resorts in the past couple of months, since plans of phasing out of the lockdown with international travel being allowed from 12 April. Travel website traffic has risen exponentially over the past few weeks as more people start planning their next family getaway.
Domestic travel has also seen a rise with people heading off to visit family and friends that they haven't been able to visit in some time. Summer bookings in the UK have already increased by thirty-eight percent over only a few days.
Nashir Janmohamed, the Managing Director at Let's Talk Travel, said “Our customers are excited to be able to get away from the home for a holiday now that the restrictions on travel have been lifted. Grenada, Barbados, and Bermuda are all on the Government's green list, which means as long as you haven't been to any other countries in the past ten days, you do not need to quarantine on return to the UK, though you will be required to have a COVID-19 test on the second day of your return. “
Amber countries, which include Jamaica, have different requirements for returning to the UK, which includes if you are vaccinated, then you must take a test on your second day without having to quarantine, if you are not vaccinated, then you must quarantine at home for ten days. The countries on the red list require UK residents to stay in managed quarantine hotels at their expense for ten days.
