Following their successful Kickstarter Campaign for the MEGA-IO Expansion Card for Raspberry Pi, which raised over 200% of the money target, Sequent Microsystems announced the launch of their next Kickstarter Campaign for the Eight-Relay add-on card for Raspberry Pi

After only one week, the campaign has reached 90% of the money target, virtually assuring that all backers will receive their pledges in time.

The 8-Relay card is a low cost version of the MEGA-IO Card. Stackable up to eight layers, it allows users to add up to 64 relays in a very compact form factor. Competitively priced at $25, the card is offered to Kickstarter backers at 33% discount, for an introductory price of only $17. Unlike other solutions for adding relays to Raspberry Pi, the 8-Relay card is using only two serial pins of the GPIO interface, leaving all other IO pins available for external functions.

Command line and Python drivers are available and can be downloaded from GitHub. A typical application for a 64 Stations Irrigation Controller for under $3 per zone is also available for download from the Company’s website.

Sequent Microsystems is a Cupertino, CA based startup which designs and manufactures Raspberry Pi add-on cards.
