Lakshyam has been working for child welfare and education since 2004. There have been several mediums through which the social enterprise has been supporting children and adolescents to improve their quality of life. From informal education to extracurricular activities like Karate, Arts & Crafts, Dance workshops etc, the aim of Lakshyam has been to introduce the concept of personality building projects to the children and their families. These activities have a positive impact on their decision-making, setting life goals and achieving for excellence in various manners.

The process of impacting the young minds becomes even more fruitful when the youth across the country join hands and volunteer at Lakshyam to help the children that Lakshyam has supports.

The role of youth is truly essential, effective and elemental in bringing about a long-lasting change in the social sector. Be it national or international volunteers and interns, the support surely goes a long way when individuals with a driven approach make up their mind to contribute through their skills and time.

Lakshyam has been supported by organizations across the globe like IndoGenius, the delivery partner of the UKIERI Study India Programme. Through a two-week Summer Internship Program for 10 United Kingdom undergraduates from universities such as Oxford and Cambridge, the interns supported Lakshyam in community development, teaching and Arts & Crafts workshops. Lakshyam also collaborated with iVolunteer, the delivery partner of Ubelong. To implement the initiative with Lakshyam, volunteers from countries like the United States and the United Kingdom joined Lakshyam for a period of three months to engage in varied volunteering projects with much enthusiasm and dedication. AIESEC is one of the world's largest youth-run organizations present in over 130 countries. The international volunteers of AIESEC visited Lakshyam from diverse countries like Russia, Indonesia and Egypt, and worked on varied online and offline projects for the communities undertaken by Lakshyam.

Private schools like Bhatnagar International School, Delhi Public School, G. D. Goenka School, Golden Bells Public School, The Heritage School and Laxman Public School have also been instrumental in supporting one of Lakshyam’s main programs, ‘Lakshyam Toy Library. Lakshyam sets up Toy Boxes in schools where each child donates a toy and a book that are donated to the children Lakshyam supports in 11 states of India with 13 centers.

Similarly, colleges like Miranda College and Delhi College of Arts & Commerce (DCAC) have welcomed the beneficiaries to their campuses for dance performances and student interactions with open arms. Students from IIT Delhi continue to carry out regular computer classes along with creating awareness in the community via surveys and group discussions. Enactus Ramjas has been collaborating with Lakshyam since two years now, with cross training sessions of handicraft and initiating a sustainable program of making handmade tote bags with the women at Lakshyam’s Center.

It is during such efforts of the youth, to support at-risk communities in any way possible, that the ways to reduce the burden of poverty and lack of education seem plausible.

Lakshyam continues to support volunteers in their endeavour to contribute towards upliftment of the downtrodden.
