Official Launch and Celebration To Take Place At The 17th Annual J-Raz Father’s Day BBQ

Washington, D.C. – A new organization, 100Fathers.com, has been launched with the specific purpose to give support to men, particularly fathers, and address the issue of absentee fathers in homes across America.

100Fathers.com was created with the specific goal to reduce the number of fatherless children in the country. With carefully designed programs and activities, 100 Fathers will focus on helping fathers to increase the amount of time they spend with their children.

The organization will focus on three priority areas, starting with a program to educate fathers about the challenges that usually contribute to their absence, such as finances, custodial planning and emotional health preparedness. Other programs aim to help fathers to build bridges and reconnect with their children, in addition to working to change the perception of fathers and advocating for their rights.

“Growing up in the foster care system, having neither a mother nor father, I’ve experienced the hopelessness of fatherless-ness first hand. The experience only prepared me to continue the same horrible cycle with my children. I was a "deadbeat". I was selfish. I was immature. I was a statistic. As I matured, I began to heal my spirit. I began to educate myself and then I began to plan. I was once a “deadbeat”, teenage father, now I am the over-active father of five. My journey must be shared. I must do the work I have been called to do. It is my mission to bridge the gap between fathers in crisis and active, engaged fathers. It’s what I was put here to do and I believe my journey can and will change the world.” said Alan Atkinson, Founder & President.
