Die Helligkeit wird im Akkubetrieb auf maximal einstellbare 130 cd/m² gedrosselt. Mit der dynamischen Helligkeitssteuerung im Lenovo Vantage Tool kann das nicht abgestellt werden. Die Drosselung hat Vorteile für die Laufzeit, jedoch wird heller Sonnenschein schnell zum Feind des matten Bildschirmes.A275 und A475 sind Teil einer großen AMD-Offensive im Firmenkunden-Geschäft, dafür hat der Hersteller eigens eine AMD-Serie ins Leben gerufen. Interesse soll AMD Dash hervorrufen, eine Funktion, die Intels vPro entspricht. Da Raven-Ridge (mobile Ryzen-APUs) erst 2018 bereitsteht, muss der Vorgänger Bristol Ridge noch einmal ran. Der 12-Zöller A275 ist aktuell in Deutschland in zwei Konfigurationen zu haben: Den AMD PRO A10-9700B, 4x 2.50GHz gibt es mit 128 GB und 8 GB Ram, den A12-9800B, 4x 2.70GHz mit 256 GB und ebenfalls 8 GB RAM. Unser Testgerät kommt aus dem Lenovo-Demo-Pool und weicht mit 16 GB RAM (1x 16 GB, 1 Slots) von zweiter Variante etwas ab.

Die übrigen Kenndaten sind identisch: Das Panel mit 1.920 x 1.080 Pixeln in IPS (Testgerät abweichend mit HD 1366 x 768 TN), die Anschlüsse und die Doppel-Akku-Kombination aus 23 und 48 Wattstunden. Der A12-9800B kann im Normalfall mit 4x 2,70 GHz rechnen, im Turbo können einzelne Kerne auch darüber hinaus beschleunigen. Der Cinebench R15 läuft mit 2,9 GHz, allerdings nur im ersten Durchlauf. Der Zweite rechnet nur noch mit 2,2 GHz was zu einer Minderung des Scores um 15 % führt. Bei diesen 190 Punkten im Multi-Core-Test bleibt es dann dauerhaft. Das ist ein zu erwartendes Ergebnis für den AMD A12, wie der Blick zum HP EliteBook 725 G4 zeigt. Besser ist jedes Intel-System dran, selbst ein Core i3 7100U. Der aktuell gängige i5 7200U ist 47 bzw. 72 Prozent schneller unterwegs. Als richtiger Abräumer zeigt sich Raven Ridge, der mobile Ableger von AMDs Ryzen-Architektur. Das HP Envy x360 15m setzt sich an die Spitze des kleinen Vergleiches, weshalb wir wehmütig in Richtung kommender Updates des A275/A475 im Jahr 2018 blicken.

Games sind nicht nur mangels Dual Channel kein echtes Thema für den A275. Aktuelle Titel überfordern die Radeon R7 und selbst betagte Titel von 2013 kommen über minimale Einstellungen nicht hinaus – zumindest, wenn es nicht ruckeln soll.Der Lüfter ist im Leistungsmodus fast ständig in Betrieb, ganz gleich ob die APU etwas zu tun hat oder nicht. In den anderen Modi schaltet sich die Kühlung hingegen auch mal dauerhaft ab, weshalb das A275 dann keinen Mucks mehr von sich gibt. Der Lüfter hat eine sonore, gleichbleibende Charakteristik und kein nerviges Auftouren. Wenn es hart kommt, dann dreht die Kühlung nur noch moderat auf, wir messen dann 32 dB(A). Auffällig ist die Kühlung in keiner Weise. Die Temperaturen auf den Oberflächen bleiben zu jeder Zeit moderat. Es sind nur punktuelle Hotspots im Stresstest aufgetreten, wobei die dann gemessenen 47 °C (Unterseite) akzeptabel sind. Im Idle bleibt das gesamte Chassis, trotz sich abschaltender Lüfter (lautlos), ziemlich kühl und wird noch nicht einmal handwarm.
