MANILA, Philippines - The world’s number 1 musical, Disney’s THE LION KING, is coming to Manila this March 2018 at The Theatre at Solaire.
The Michael Cassel Group and Concertus Manila, in association with Thomas Schumacher, current president of the Disney Theatrical Group, proudly present Disney’s THE LION KING. The Manila kick-off of the musical will start on March 18, 2018 and will run until May 6, 2018.
Based on the 1994 Academy Award-winning Disney animated film, The Lion King, the musical has been running for over 20 years to date, debuting on July 8, 1997, at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Experience Serengeti right at The Theatre at Solaire in Manila, along with giraffes strutting, birds swooping, gazelles leaping, and the Pride Rock emerging slowly with our favorite fictional lion, Simba, for two hours and thirty minutes.
Sing along to the Oscar-winning song “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” by Elton John and Tim Rice, as well as crowd favorites “Hakuna Matata” and the “Circle of Life.”
The stunning artistry, unforgettable music, exhilarating choreography, and unique theatrical storytelling of Disney’s THE LION KING has been witnessed by more than 90 million people from different parts of the world, making the musical one of the most magnificent productions ever to grace the stage.
Disney’s THE LION KING has won six 1998 Tony Awards and over 70 major international theater arts awards including the 1999 Grammy for Best Musical Show Album, the 1999 Evening Standard Award for Theatrical Event of the Year, and the 1999 Laurence Olivier Awards for Best Choreography and Best Costume Design.
