5/23/2023: Jim DiEugenio has reviewed books with silly mistakes like three instead of four bullets in the case of President John F. Kennedy. On the other hand, he has also observed instances where experts deliberately create literature to support the popular narrative surrounding the JFK assassination. The Kennedys and King founder found the latter category particularly insidious and cautioned against believing their distortions.

The ongoing year will mark the 60th death anniversary of America’s 35th President. Commemorating it are researchers with a genuine interest in solving the case and propagandists and armchair experts whose research only extends as far as the most popular conspiracy theories or the broader narrative. DiEugenio’s platform has always expressed its distaste for such literature through timely reviews and rebuttals.

“The death anniversary is months away, and we’re already seeing disinformation campaigns,” said DiEugenio’s assistant. “Take Arun Starkey’s criticism of Oliver Stone’s documentaries by using Tim Weiner, of all people, as a resource. We consider it a deliberate targeting of the 60th death anniversary because Starkey could have published it any time after the documentaries and companion book were released, but he chose to do it now. Such deliberately timed attacks don’t bode well, but when they contain many omissions and inaccuracies, you have to wonder about their implications on young readers.”

According to DiEugenio’s assistant, Starkey’s article omitted several essential details to support the reigning disinformation campaigns regarding the JFK assassination. He warned against such movements and the easily accessible conspiracy theories on the internet and recommended the Kennedys and King platform for evidence-based literature.
