Installing a WordPress theme is quite simple. WordPress topics available for downloading from several locations on the Internet are generally packaged in .zip documents (i.e. theme-name.zip). Installing a WordPress theme entails only unzipping the .zip file to the proper directory of your WordPress installation, and triggering the motif from the WordPress management console.

Structure of a WordPress Theme

In order that you set up your brand new WordPress theme properly, you have to comprehend the fundamentals of how the WordPress program interacts using topics. A WordPress theme requires three fundamental files so as to work properly with all the WordPress administration:

O An index.php file: This document is the control of a WordPress blog. Most WordPress topics have other PHP files which reflect various sections of a WordPress site, however index.php is your only necessary PHP file.

O A style.css file: This file controls the appearance and design of this WordPress-based site utilizing design definitions. Additionally, it Includes the information That's utilized from the Manage Themes part of WordPress to display the theme title, version, author, and description

O A"screenshot" picture: This image is used to make preview of the corresponding motif from the Manage Themes part of the WordPress management. It may be some of the frequent net graphics files (png, jpg, gif), but it has to be termed screenshot. For example, screenshot.png, screenshot.jpg, or screenshot.gif.

If you have gotten your motif out of a designer that knows what he is doing, you do not actually have to be worried about making certain the theme is installed properly. If you are unsure, you could only wish to double-check that you have obtained the basic files necessary to set up your theme. To get more information visit https://wpeventsplus.com/theme/

WordPress Directory Structure

The WordPress directory structure Includes three folders at the root directory:

o wp-admin
o wp-content
o wp-includes

Underneath the wp-content folder there's a folder called topics. In this folder is the place you have to deposit the folder which has your motif. Here's a good illustration. Say I'm installing a motif for a recipe website. The theme is Named Recipe, and its own folder structure looks like this:

recipe-blog/
index.php
style.css
screenshot.png

This theme would ordinarily be packed in a. zip file. To utilize the subject, I would have to unpackage the file, then upload it (likely using FTP) in my WordPress themes folder. When I have WordPress installed on my server below a directory called website, my directory structure would look like that:

/WordPress/wp-content/themes/recipe-blog/

index.php

style.css

screenshot.png

Activating a WordPress Theme

Once I upload the subject to the proper directory, I am now able to visit my WordPress management to trigger it. After logging into the WordPress admin section, I proceed to Appearances->Themes. I can see my new theme is set up properly and ready to be triggered, because I will see it under Available Themes about the Manage Themes page.
