Lot of people these days undergo disorders related to incontinence. People’s lives are getting busier, so, they procrastinate health related disorders become a costly affair later. One of these kinds of health disorders is Incontinence which is seen among working class as well as people staying at homes. Incontinence deals with inability to hold urine for a longer duration which is also known as urinary incontinence. The other type of incontinence disorder which faced by people is the faecal incontinence, which basically deals with the disorder related to not able to control bowels. People tend to release winds and leak small quantities of urine due to these kinds of disorders. Lot of people who face these disorders, do not attend to them properly and thus they become more serious with time. Surely, imagine a situation, where accidentally one is not able to hold urine and leaks, the stigma attached of doing something like this publicly, leaves a very long lasting dent on ones self respect and conscience.

People tend to forget about these things and do not come out openly to discuss these situations which they face. People also tend to let go of such situations, thinking that it will probably subside by its own with time. But, now days it has become a proven medical fact, that if an individual does not maintain few basic practices in his daily life, those may lead to Incontinence. With a recent survey it was found that seven to eight times women tend to get affected more than men for this kind of disorders. The reasons can be various starting from pregnancy for the first time; child birth more than one time puts a large amount of pressure which weakens the pelvic muscles leading to incontinence. Few myths add to the misery of people to shy away from getting these disorders checked and treated. These myths are that this is a kind of disease; it tends to increase more with aging, if you drink less it will subside and all blah blah! Living in an era of modern science obviously doesn’t help people overcome these issues. Doctors now have prescribed various Behavioural aspects of our lives which if controlled and practiced regularly surely help in restricting the situation and even to an extent of curing this disorder.

Follow these healthy practices and defeat this disorder and what healthy way it can be to beat this disorder by getting healthy and following a healthy lifestyle – they are

• Weight Management – Losing some of the weight often help fight incontinence
• Be Fit – Maintaining fitness is the key to defeat incontinence
• Healthy Diet - One has to include lot of fluids , fruits vegetables and fibre diet to fight incontinence
• Quit smoking - Quit smoking as soon as possible to avoid faecal incontinence of bowel movements because of smoking cough increases and it may become a cause of incontinence.
• Cut caffeine and drinking – increase fluid intake and cut down on those drinks to remain healthy.
• Exercise & Be more Social – Exercise to increase the strength of pelvic muscles
• Timely help – Don’t shy away to get timely help from your doctor.
