Santa Fe, United States - Winter is known as the “slow season” among Santa Fe, NM businesses, but this February Mark White Fine Art and Mark White Contemporary (www.markwhitefinart.com) have been anything but quiet. The gallery took part in two events during the Feb 22-24 ARTfeast weekend.
ARTfeast is a multi-event fundraiser for ARTsmart, an organization that buys art supplies and supports art education efforts for local schoolkids. This year Mark White took part in the Edible Art Tour and the Art of Home Tour.
For the Edible Art Tour, the gallery offered Spanish tapas-inspired food from the Blue Corn Brewery. The gallery also served up biscochitos and root beer with the help of Mark White Office Manager Mandie Szantho’s two children, both of whom benefit from the art resources that ARTsmart provides for their schools. By the end of the event, more than 600 people had stopped by for a taste.
The two-day Art of Home Tour pairs galleries with some of Santa Fe’s finest on-the-market homes, giving the public an opportunity to see the City Different’s greatest art and architecture in the same place. Mark White filled 2212 Paseo de Primero with work from all of the gallery’s artists to the delight of hundreds of visitors.
“It was a great time,” says Szantho. “We had one of the best houses on the tour with a really good location, so a lot of people came by.”
