ATLANTA, GA- Creative leader, Tyree Smith announced today that he will be opening the doors to the ARTlanta Gallery in the historic Atlanta Underground. The public is invited to join in the grand opening celebration on November 12th, 2022 from 12:00pm-8:00pm.

Founder and owner Tyree Smith will conduct the official ribbon cutting ceremony at 11:30am, followed by the celebration hosted by Smith and Puma from VH1's Black Ink Crew NY. The new gallery will feature Art for sale from some up and coming Metro Atlanta Visual Artists including Barry Duperon, Nic Badila, Bella Gotti, Crys Flya, Tarik Clark, Joseph Hood and Captain Chaney. The event will also include live DJ sets and a live performance by musical artist Grey.

The ARTlanta Gallery brings more than a brick and mortar gallery space to downtown Atlanta. It brings with it a cultural movement that has made an impact on Metro Atlanta's Creative scene with its previous pop-up locations at The Met, Fort McPherson and various places throughout the city, as well as other events including more than 100 art shows, an art fair, financial literacy classes and other programs focused on improving the quality of life of area Creatives. Smith’s current mission for the ARTlanta Gallery in the Underground is to lead what he calls "The Atlanta Renaissance” with intentionality, by becoming one of the premier Art galleries in the South. For Smith, ARTlanta Gallery is a way to combat the lack of places Creatives have to be creative in.

“The goal is to build safe spaces for Atlanta Creatives to not just gather in, but THRIVE in.” Says Smith.

Under Smith's leadership, the ARTlanta Gallery will inspire Creativity and foster community by providing much needed places, resources, events and programming for area Artists and patrons of the Arts.
