September 23, 2017, Kolkata: Durga Puja is one of the biggest festivals of West Bengal and is celebrated with incomparable enthusiasm in Kolkata. The festival elucidated the homecoming of Goddess Durga for five days to her matrimonial home from Mount Kailash. It is a celebration of good over evil as the goddess vanquishes the demon Mahishasura.
It is undoubtedly, the religious festival of India. It is celebrated by the Hindu people all over the country with lots of happiness and enthusiasm. Everyone perform this puja very nicely in cultural and traditional way at several places in the city or villages. It is one of the joyful occasions especially for the students as they take some leisure time from their hectic life because of holidays. It is celebrated wonderfully, at few places a huge fair is also held. During Puja, each pandal works on a theme and that could be anything from the most recent issue that has been making headlines, or a scientific concept or an elaborate representation of the traditional and ethnic culture of India or other parts of the world or even an ecological issue.
