The best part about college, deny it or not has always been fests. These fests tend to uplift, enlighten and bring the spirit of togetherness to every college. This February, ASM Group of Institutes organised their annual college festival named ‘Insignia’. For those of you who are not aware, insignia is one of the biggest college festivals in Pune city where different colleges across city come together at ASM to participate in this spectacle of an event. This year’s Insignia was bigger and better with increased student participation and sheer dedication.
Insignia which is touted as “Pune’s Biggest Annual Fest” attracted students the most from IBMR, IIBR, CSIT and IPS. College fests are something that students look forward to as they provide a much needed respite from studies, tutorials, texts and snarky professors. The students from all the participating colleges unleashed their creative talents and put on a memorable show after much hard work and practice.
This year’s Insignia had a cluster of eclectic events like Girls Gully Cricket where girls from different teams played against each other to win the Cup, Rose Queen in which the girl who was bestowed upon with the most number of roses from boys was crowned as the “Rose Queen”, apart from other events like Sing-O-Mania, Foot loose, Tattoo art, Nail art, Hair-O-Styling and Rangoli without Colour.
The theme for a college festival is of utmost importance as it should be trending with current scenario and the students must be able to relate to it. Keeping that in mind this year’s theme for Insignia was “SAVE WATER” and there was also an exquisite Skit Drama performed by the students on the same. With a website, an attractive video and an ever growing fan base on Facebook, Twitter and its blog, Insignia has not only touched and surpassed past benchmarks but has also created new milestones for the years to come.
