If you want something or looking for something that is different from the normal long white dress, the sky's the limit as far as alternative goes. Some brides preferred a gown like the Savin London as an alternative but for some brides, ‘alternatives' means color or something out of the ordinary when it comes to shape. The truth is if you can dream it, you can have it because bespoke and couture gowns can be made to your exact design but this may be unusual. If you know you want an alternative wedding dress but you are not just sure what, it is best to start by considering the following:

1. Your everyday style: What do you prefer to wear? Is it maxis over minis or bright dresses over dull ones? If you never wear white or pastel shades but don’t want a black gown, consider going for the deepest red, purple or burgundy. If you are someone that is never accustomed to putting on long skirts or dresses and live in miniskirts, then a shorter or tea-length wedding dress could be just perfect for you. A two-tone dress with an unusual short ruffled skirt will look stunning as your wedding dress, combined with eye-catching shoes.

2. Your personal likes: Which one do you prefer? Boho or Gothic or you are obsessed with something else? You don’t have to be a fully-fledged 80s style Goth in black lipstick to love Gothic style, just as you don’t have to be a 60s hippie ‘flower child' to like the Bohemian look. There are many of their current designs with the subtlest hint of distinctive styles blended together into a look that is quite unique.

3. Your body shape: Is there a style that you know looks great on you and brings out your positives, making you feel more comfortable and more confident? Knowing that an A-line skirt will skim over wide hips and give you an hour glass shape, or a strapless or wide neckline will balance a pear shaped figure and draw the eye to amazing shoulders can make all the difference. It is about feeling good about yourself and that makes you look even more beautiful. Ensure you desire to choose the best wedding dress for your shape. The 1950s- inspired wedding dress by house of Mooshki has a fabulously flattering A-line skirt.

As most traditional bridal gowns are plain ivory in color, even if they do have beading, crystal or embroidery details, a heavily patterned wedding dress is unusual. Colorful, floral or colored designs add depth and interest. The pattern or color can also be continued on into the bridal bouquet, floral head dress and bridesmaid dress.

Sometimes you may prefer a shorter alternative dress. A short ivory wedding dress makes a statement as your legs will be on show, you could have even more fun by teaming it with long boots or amazing shoes.
