BlackBerry Ltd. no longer produces its own handsets, but the firm has a final indulgence for steadfast supporters: a new handset exhibiting its classic physical keyboard.

BlackBerry CEO, John Chen, reportedly alluded to the new phone earlier this year, but had not confirmed its creation until last week in an interview with the press.

“We have one more keyboard sporting phone I promised consumers,” Chen stated. “It’s coming.”

Under Chen’s leadership, BlackBerry has steadily switched its focus from smartphone production to software and announced earlier this year that it would halt the production, distribution and stocking of its own phones entirely.

BlackBerryalso announced that it would make the shift to licensing its own software brand to external companies for use on their own phones. The physical keyboard is BlackBerry’s most well-known signature feature, with many past users still nostalgic in their recall of its use as they struggle to master modern day touch screens.

BlackBerry’s CEO, a Republican who worked on President GW Bush’s board of advisors with regards to exports, stated earlier this year that he harboured growing concern over candidate Trump’s anti immigrant stance.

After Trump’s stunning win, Chen voiced his hopes that as POTUS, Donald Trump wouldbe surrounded by people with a more moderate view and would backtrack on his controversial promises to revoke visas for foreign tech workers.

“It happened, so we need to make the best out of it,” Chen said of Trump’s startling victory. “Nobody really knows what he’s going to do next.”
