Ocala, FL. August 5, 2013 – Just 3 Months after having a Pacemaker implanted, Monty Klein-Smatt, competes in a Men’s Physique Over 50 Competition, Southern States Championships, and comes 2nd proving that “Health is a Decision – Not a Choice!” He has had three heart surgeries so far with scars from his neck to mid chest camouflaged by the spray tan that many competitors use on stage.

At 52, he’s not planning for retirement anytime soon. This businessman keeps active and supports others in their journey towards being healthy. Competing in the newly added category and hopefully winning in the near future is a goal that is always at the forefront. But it is not just about winning on stage; it is about winning in life. Monty has crossed hurdles that required a lot of courage and determination. His hard work pays off he says and right now, he is in the best health of his life.

Southern States Championships was sanctioned by National Physique Committee of the USA (NPC) as a Level V show where most of the competitors are involved in the sport nationally. The NPC is the largest amateur bodybuilding organization in the United States in which bodybuilders and physique competitors participate. There are approximately 30,000 competitors in the NPC per year and over 200 were at Southern States.

Monty plans to compete in 3 more competitions throughout Florida including the Deke Warner’s NPC Florida State Championships in Orlando on August 17th, 2013 and go to Nationals again this year. This is his second year competing.
