“If the human race has to survive in the long run, we will probably have to colonize any other planet. Whether the earth reaches a natural end or we make it uninhabitable due to harmful practices, such as deforestation, overfishing, etc; one day we will have to search for a new home,” well-known African Astronomer, Harry Coumnas was quoted as saying during a press conference that was held in Washington DC last week.

Harry also spoke about his plans to build a residential colony on an alien planet very soon. He noted that Hollywood movies such as The Martian and Interstellar give us a glimpse of what may be in store for us in the near future. While Coumnas referred to Mars as one of the most habitable planets in our solar system, he shared that there are many other earth-like exoplanets that could be the other home for humans.

Harry Coumnas is currently working on an advanced technology which can provide a continuous supply of resources, like oxygen, water, food, etc on the potentially habitable planets and make life of the inhabitants easier. Talking about the number of people he plans to send to the alien planet, Coumnas said, “The colony that I plan to build would approximately accommodate 1500 to 2000 people”
