Joshua Safeek Makes a Multimillion Dollar Donation to the Guyana Festival

In 2014, Joshua Safeek donated three million dollars to the Guyana Festival as a show of community support.

 
Joshua Safeek was born and raised in Georgetown, Guyana in South America. After he graduated from high school, he moved to the United States to study industrial engineering and business. He lived in Nashville, Tennessee for 15 years and moved back to Guyana in 1997. He returned to his home so that he could begin working in business and improve the local communities and their economies. He started his career as the CEO of Caricom General Insurance Co., Inc., and slowly began to build success.

As Joshua Safeek was building his career, he was also working towards building the local communities. He was the president of the West Demerara Chamber of Commerce (WDCC) for several years, and during that time he helped develop the township of Parika. He is dedicated to his community and his home, and he works hard to help them grow and expand. In 2014, as the Chairman of Caricom Bottling Company Inc., Joshua Safeek donated three million dollars towards the Guyana Festival. This festival was held between August 8th and August 10th of 2014, which was its inaugural year.

The Guyana Festival brought an innovative fusion of six different cultures to the Guyanese public. It celebrated the “Sound, Soul, and Taste” of Guyana. The festival was a weekend of celebrations which included performances from the National Steel Orchestra, the Nrityageet dancers, the Woodside Choir, and more. The Guyana Defense Force (GDF) opened the festival with an air show.

Caricom Bottling Company Inc. was one of several local companies that supported the festival. The Guyana Festival was an important event that helped boost tourism in the country. The event drew in tourists and helped boost the local economy. Joshua Safeek is a Guyana native and an avid supporter of the country’s economy. He supports several other causes and events in his native country. He works hard to bring commerce to the local communities. He made a multimillion dollar donation to the Guyana Festival in order to help the event succeed.
