City Academy Provides Its Graduates the Opportunity to Earn the I'm Ready Scholarship

Every graduate of City Academy who earns the school’s College Ready Diploma may get a $1,000 I’m Ready Scholarship to their preferred accredited college.

 
[SALT LAKE CITY, 10/27/2017] — City Academy, a Salt Lake City-based tuition-free public charter school, gives its graduates the opportunity to receive the I’m Ready Scholarship. The scholarship will shoulder up to $1,000 of the scholar’s college expenses at any accredited college, university, or program anywhere in the world.

Two Requirements for the I’m Ready Scholarship

Students interested in applying for the I’m Ready Scholarship should submit a College Ready Scholarship Fund Application form to the director of City Academy.

The student must also earn the school’s College Ready Diploma. The minimum level of courses required (per subject)for a College Ready Diploma is as follows:

• Math - 1.0 Math 3 or IGSCE Math
• Social Studies - 1.0 Pre-advanced U.S. History
• English - 1.0 Pre-Advanced English
• Science - 2.0 Chemistry, Physics, or Biology
• World Languages – 2.0 of the same language in the 9th to 12th grade
• Fine Arts – Any of the school’s performing or visual arts
• Physical Education (PE) and Health – 0.5 for health and 1.5 for state-specified PE
• CTE, Fin Lit, and Tech – Minimum of 0.5 service learning internship

Apart from meeting the course level requirements, the student must complete his or her graduation presentation and earn at least 24 credits.
