[Salt Lake City, October 24, 2016] – City Academy, a public school for grades 7 through 12, provides a compelling education that prepares students for college and for life. They do so through service learning. The school chartered by the Utah State Office of Education is in downtown Salt Lake City.

A Compelling Education

City Academy’s mission is to equip their students for success in college and in life. They engage each one through investigative learning and active citizenship. What’s more, their learning community allows a hands-on and minds-on learning process for 7th to 12th grade students.

A Comprehensive Curriculum

The public school wants their students to become lifelong learners. As such, they put emphasis on inquiry and the investigative process in all their courses. They also offer a college curriculum that includes foundation courses and advanced study. In addition, they require critical and creative thinking.

A Service Learning Requirement

In City Academy, graduation requirements include a service learning internship. This involves internship projects in different organizations within the community: non-profit, social services, and government. Aside from volunteerism, it teaches students the causes and issues of the organizations they serve.

City Academy believes that the heart of a good education is developing students as citizens in their communities. They get graduates ready for college through extended years of math and science, foreign language, and service learning too.

More information about the personalized education they offer is available on their website.
