“I first met John Gaughan of Crystal Lake, IL when I got a flat tire on the expressway and he pulled over to help me change my tire. It was ninety-five degrees outside and he thought nothing of getting out of his car in his nice suit and getting a bit greasy. We have been friends ever since,” says a close friend. He simply treats people the way he would like to be treated. It seems so simple and it is amazing that more people don’t adhere to that way of thinking.

“As a young man, he was always helping me around the house,” recalls the mother of John Gaughan of Crystal Lake, IL. “I never had to ask him to do something twice and he seemed to generally enjoy helping me out. When other mothers complained about their lazy teenage sons, I had quite the opposite to say.” He always felt that his mother worked so hard for the whole family, so how could he not lend a hand when he could? Also, he viewed the opportunities to help as a time to learn as well.

“When we were in college, we lived by these guys who were always playing tricks on this one guy who kept to himself. John Gaughan of Crystal Lake, IL did not like this at all as the jokes were mean-spirited. He would not retaliate, but started quite deliberately inviting the young man to hang out with us. When those guys saw that he did have some friends, they laid off,” recalls a roommate of John Gaughan of Crystal Lake, IL.

John Gaughan has always been mature and knew the proper tactics even early on. He never fights fire with fire but kills with kindness. Anyone who meets him agrees that he is an all-around nice guy.
